Jeffrey Hornaday is an American choreographer and film director. He has choreographed films such as Flashdance, Dick Tracy, and A Chorus Line.
Hornaday has also directed music videos such as Stevie Nicks' 1983 Stand Back. In 2003 he was nominated for the MTV Video Music Award for Best Choreography for adapting his dance routines from Flashdance for Jennifer Lopez in her music video I'm Glad. Hornaday has also directed multiple world tours for entertainers such as Madonna's and Paul McCartney. Hornaday created specialized marketing campaigns for companies such as Sony and Nike and has served as creative director for events featuring President Bill Clinton and President Barack Obama.
Biography[]
Jeffrey Hornaday is director and choreographer for the highly anticipated Disney Channel Original Movie “Teen Beach 2.” Hornaday began his career choreographing landmark feature films that include “Flashdance,” “A Chorus Line” and “Dick Tracy.” His experience working with filmmakers like Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas, and Warren Beatty helped Hornaday launch a successful directing career that now spans corporate campaigns, concerts, and feature films. Hornaday received a Best Director nomination from the Director’s Guild of America for his work on two popular Disney Channel Original Movies, including the 2013 summer hit “Teen Beach Movie” as well as the 2011 sensation “Geek Charming,” starring Sarah Hyland. In the music world, Hornaday created and directed world tours for Miley Cyrus, Madonna, Paul McCartney, and Mariah Carey. He has also conceived, designed and directed groundbreaking live events, including set designs and original video content for clients such as Nike, GoPro, Sony, Intel, Nissan, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, and The White House. Hornaday attended Yale University and currently lives in Los Angeles.
